A peek at Tea Tree Oil

The Tea Tree

Even at my advanced age, I get break outs.  Probably from eating something I love that doesn't love me, but I don't know what that is, or hormones.  Quien Sabe?  But I remembered reading in a herbal/medical book that tea tree oil (the oil from Melaleuca alternifolia, a plant native to Australia.)  is a great antiseptic and cleanser and good for skin conditions.  So, this morning, I took a wee dab of TTO and a much bigger dab of witch hazel and gave the offending blighters a rub.

I smell

I used to hate that smell, but since I used just a dab, it is actually pleasent!

I looked it up.  There is no actual scientific evidence that TTO will help acne because they have not conducted a double-blind test. (Good luck with the way it smells, I think people will know which one they got!)  But until they do, science won't say.

Didn't hurt.

By the way, Tea Tree has nothing to do with Camellia Sinensis, or what we call Tea or Cha.  Different plant completely
